Bio

Mercedes Sanchez is a multimedia journalist and the founder of BeChicMag.com- an online magazine and lifestyle channel covering the latest in fashion, beauty and entertainment. In May 2010, Mercedes was chosen an alternate candidate for the hit show The Apprentice for her entrepreneurial work throughout the recession.

Mercedes is a features writer, television and Web producer. Her career kicked off when she wrote for the New York Post’s Tempo — a monthly insert on Latino related arts and culture. She then went on to handle publicity for former Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion (who is now the Urban Policy Director at The White House) as a deputy press officer. A love for producing started when NBC called her to work for their Emmy award-winning morning show “Today In New York”.

Mercedes is a dedicated and determined visionary. In addition to serving as a contributing editor to BeChicMag.com, Mercedes creates original content and books prominent experts in the fashion and entertainment industry for BeChicTV-  a lifestyle Web series. She also shoots, produces and edits segments using iMovie and Final Cut Pro.

Mercedes Sanchez is a native New Yorker from the Lower East Side. She enjoys reading, searching for new stories and shopping in SoHo and NoLita late Sunday mornings.
